Rod Building 101 Class- I have had several customers request a class so I now have a date set and location. At this time I don't have a date set for 2005, but I do private lessons at the shop if you want to learn give me a call to set a time? Date: Time: . Where: Scottsdale Presbyterian Church on the Northeast corner of Hayden & Osborn in Scottsdale, AZ Address: 3421 N. Hayden Road. The class will consist of learning how a fishing rod blank is made, finding the spine, tools needed, glueing handles and reel seats, wrapping and coating the wraps. On Saturday you will need to have your fishing rod kit purchased either at my shop or from other suppliers around the country. Just a note that I recommend not spending to much on your first fishing rod as you may have mistakes and why spend alot of money on such a rod that you will be fishing with. I will be putting on other classes for fancy wrappings and making your own reel seats and other items in rod building. The other classes will be Rod Building 200 and 201 classes. Rod building 101 cost $75 per person plus the cost of the rod kit. My rod kits range in price $28/kt up over $100/kt it all depends on what type of fishing rod you are wanting to build. I want everyone to come into my shop before the class so I can show you what you need to make before the class for doing the wraps on the blank.
